Brooking Park is looking for a creative, energetic, and compassionate individual to join our team as the Activities Director. Must be reliable, outgoing, and enjoy engaging with the elderly.

The position of the Activity Director will be responsible for creating, planning, developing, and carrying out engaging activities to meet the needs for our residents.

Job Responsibilities:

Plans and implements individual and group activities that promotes physical, cognitive, social, and emotional health
Schedules activities for residents during the evenings and weekends
Encourages participation and involvement of all residents
Gives residents opportunities for choices and self-expression
Provides opportunities for residents to learn new skills and develop new interests
Completes and updates resident assessments in a timely manner
Treats residents and staff with respect and dignity
Adheres to legal requirements and proper policies and procedures in documentation
Adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

At least two (2) years of related experience in a social, recreational program or in a healthcare setting
Associate degree OR Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as recreation therapy
CPR Certification (organization provides at no cost)
Active driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members
Ability to create, plan, and develop group activities
Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Leadership, organization, time management, problem solving/resolution, and decision-making skills
