Testimony from Martha Darling, Proud Resident of The Sarah Community

Martha has made The Sarah Community her home for the past 6 years. She started out in our assisted living community, where her hard work coupled with the care she received from our dedicated staff allowed her to gain strength and independence. Her remarkable recovery has allowed her to move from our assisted living community to our independent living community, Naomi House.

Martha likes to stay busy, and Naomi House offers her what she needs to stay active. Here, she can engage in work as a part-time receptionist, attend daily Mass, and much, much more. She also receives the care she needs, when she needs it. “I appreciate how the staff is always ready to assist me in getting what I need,” Martha says. From helping with housekeeping to managing medications to enjoying delicious meals, Martha is never wanting for lack of attention and care.

The best part of staying in Naomi House for Martha, however, is that she truly feels loved and valued. “There are times when I stay in my room,” Martha says, and that “both staff and residents always comment on how much I am missed. That feeling of inclusion is so important in this type of living situation.”
